OrganizingLA and John Trosko KABC Television Spot

See OrganizingLA on KABC-7 Eyewitness news by clicking here!

Organizinglalogos_001_13Last January, I was contacted by Jane Monreal of KABC-7 TV here in Los Angeles to serve as Organizing Expert for a garage segment.  I knew it would be a challenge to schedule an agreeable Family, myself, a camera crew, and a busy on-air reporter for a 30-second television informational segment.  But to juggle the whole process with the extensive Southern California rains and the death of Pope John Paul II was more than expected.  With some understandable delays we conquered.

Our news segment needed to be "reversed engineered."  When the crew shows up, the final, establishing shot--all 100% organized and pulled together, is taken first.  Then, the entire space is "disorganized" showing bits and pieces of befores and afters.  The process makes planning the project difficult, especially when it came to the installation of shelving and storing a mountain of donations that were taller than a Hummer.  Such delays landed our segment in June and it was worth the wait.

You can view the final segment by clicking here.

Many thanks to South Pasadena client, MJ, and her wonderful family for opening up their home to us.  Professional Organizers Chris McKenry of Get it Together LA and Rosalind Lakomy provided professional support.  Bruce L. Gillman served as adviser.  Bill Pedrotti of Organized Living at the Farmer's Market at The Grove supplied the wire storage racks and shelving.  Special thanks to Barbra Horowitz of Closet Therapy, Rigged and Tee Shirt Couture.
